New River Desert Hills Residents

A community in Maricopa County, Arizona.

Please Act Today!!!

Dear Neighbors,

On January 30, 2025, a 12-year-old in our community was critically injured crossing New River Road to board his school bus—a dangerous stretch with high speeds and poor visibility. Parents and Maricopa County officials have urged Deer Valley Unified School District (DVUSD) to move the stop to safer 29th Avenue, but the district has refused.

DVUSD’s own handbook promises students “a safe learning environment” and a duty to address “unsafe conditions.” Yet, this hazardous stop remains unchanged. We also call for an end to left-side pickups on roads over 35 mph, per national safety standards.

One injured child is one too many. Join us in demanding DVUSD act now. Click below to send a pre-drafted email to district leadership and officials. Together, we can prevent another tragedy.
